Thames Street trial ends this weekend

The six-week Streetscape trial on Lower Thames Street, East Bank on Thames,
will end this weekend with the project team and other contributing contractors
removing the extended pedestrian area, planters, beams and other features of
the trial on Sunday 30 March.
Ply and framing will be removed by representatives from eight North Otago
Rugby Football Union clubs, and will be repurposed to support the clubs and
the community ahead of the coming season.
Planters will be removed and placed around the community, with the help of
community organisations including EnviroSchools. Some of the concrete
seating supplied by Hinds will be removed, improved and then placed in the
Marketzone in the Harbour Precinct.
Bridge beams will be returned to TY Duncan Yard for storage, and the black
metal stools will be used in Gillies Foundry’s art gallery.
Feedback is currently open on the trial, via an online survey, which can be
